FEBRUARY FAVOURITES

Does anyone else think February is a really hard word to spell? No? Just me then...

It's nearly March :D Which means it's nearly my 21st birthday :D Which means, it's time to share my February favourites with you all! So, here they are:

Products

SP Purple Shampoo - This is the best purple shampoo I have ever used! It is doing a fine job of keeping the coppery tones away from my bottle- blonde hair and it makes my hair silky smooth and clean. It doesn't way my hair down, it doesn't tint my hair, it simply does the job that it's meant to do and I'll 100% repurchase this when I finish the bottle. If you're interested, I purchased mine here for about £12.

L'Oreal Eye and Lip Make Up Remover - If you're looking for an affordable, quality make up remover that's tough enough for waterproof mascara, this is the product for you. It has an oily texture that I actually enjoy, it doesn't have much of a scent to it and it's super gentle on the eyes. You only need to take a small amount on a cotton bud, tissue or even your fingers if you want, hold it over your eye for a few seconds then swipe away. You'll be amazed what this will remove! This is another product that I will 100% repurchase and now that I've discovered it I don't feel the need to try any other make up removers. This one's fine for me!

A highlighter that I've Loved this month is the Soap and Glory 'Glow All Out' - This is a pretty very light pink colour, that can't really be used as a blush as it is a bit too light, but it looks gorgeous dusted on top of the cheek bones along side a good contour. This is a tiny bit shimmery but nothing to make you look like a disco ball! it's long lasting and has a fine texture meaning it can be used on the eyelids in place with shadow - great for when I'm staying at my boyfriend's house and don't want to be lugging lots of products to and fro! If you'd like to try this out it is available from Boots for £11.

Also, while I remember I have to mention the packaging of all Soap and Glory Powders! I don't know how clear this will be in the pictures but it is made of cardboard meaning it is super light weight and there's no risk of the packaging breaking if you drop it on the floor. I don't know why I'm so obsessed with this, I just think it's really different and stylish!

The final 'product favourite' that I'd like to mention is the Maybelline Baby Lips. I've been a fan of these for a long time but it's only in the past month that I've really delved into my collection and reached for these. They smell nice, are quick and easy to apply and hydrate the lips better than any other product like this that I've tried. I don't have anything bad to say about these really and they're so affordable that I'd really recommend picking one up if you haven't already!

Song

My favourite song of the month is 'Hide and Seek' by Imogen Heap. This is a really old song but I've recently rediscovered it and I just can't get enough. It's so simple and soft, take a listen here :)

Blog

My favourite blog of the month is this one right here. I hopefully, fingers crossed, will have had some exciting news by the time I publish this post and if so I'm sure I'll be getting obsessed with this blog. Theres some great tips on here and some free printables. Take a look :)

BOOTS AND SUPERDRUG HAUL

I didn't buy the tree... that's just decoration...

Today I was in town and thought I'd pop into Boots and Superdrug for a teeny tiny bit of shopping. Here's what I bought:

VO5 Give Me Moisture shampoo and conditioner - This was on 2 for £5 at Superdrug which I thought was pretty good. My hairs been feeling a bit dry recently so I'm hoping these will sort it out. They smell lovely and I seem to remember loving them in the past!

Bourjois Happy Light Luminous Primer - I really don't need this primer, but I saw it and thought it was worth a try... I've broken a new years resolution there...

It's a pretty pink coloured primer - which despite the colour of the bottle I wasn't expecting - and has a very light, soft texture. It does have a scent  that I can't really describe but I like it. This was also from Superdrug and cost me £10.99.

Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation - Another impulse, resolution-breaking buy here. I went to Boots to buy a foundation that I love and have run out of, and left with this, a foundation that I've never tried or heard much about.

Did I test it? No, not really. Is it my colour? Probably not. Does it have good reviews? not that I can see. But, I am happy with my purchase. I'm glad that I'm giving this foundation a go and if it lives up to its colour correcting claims then it could be the one for me! I don't expect miracles from this product but for a drug store foundation I'm hoping that it will do the job! This cost me £10.99 and I'm quite excited to give it a try!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer 'Light' - I picked myself up an extremely hyped up product here! I needed a good thick concealer and this seemed like the way to go. This is my third tube of this product and I can't make my mind up about it! I've decided that this will be my last tube if I don't finish it all before it dries up! This was £4.19 from Boots but I got it for free with the '3 for 2' deal!

Real Techniques Stippling Brush - This is the final thing that I bought and I know that I love it because I already have one that I think is getting a bit old and in need of replacing! If you're new to make up and wanting to build a collection of brushes Real Techniques is a great place to start. They're affordable and good quality and you can pick this one up from Boots for £11.99.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing what I bought on my little shopping trip.

Keep your eyes peeled (what a ridiculous saying) for my Feb Favourites next week!

THE LIEBSTER AWARD!

Today I was nominated for the Liebster Award  by the beautiful Ruth. You can read her blog here (there's a post on colour tattoo dupe's today and they're £1.99!! Bargin! definitely worth a look!)

Ruth also has a Youtube channel that you can take a peek at here.

I'll be honest, I'd not heard of this before today, but I've found the rules on this post here!
  • State 11 facts about yourself
  • Answer 11 questions given to you by the person who nominated you
  • Nominate 11 new bloggers and set 11 questions for them to answer
  • Include the Liebster Award logo in your post and/or the side bar
11 facts about me:

1) My name - Sally - means princess
2) I have a small hole in my face
3) I suffer from anxiety and sometimes panic attacks
4) I left school at 18 and now have a full time job
5) I don't think university is for everyone
6) At the moment I'm a bit obsessed with popcorn
7) I've dyed my hair so much I'm not 100% what my natural colour is anymore
8) I have a weird thing where I HATE it when people take the label off their drinks bottle
9) I don't drink fizzy drinks
10) I rarely eat meat because I don't like the thought of eating a vein
11) I'm extremely indecisive

11 questions

1) Who was your first celebrity crush?

Honestly? I do not have a clue. I'd imagine it was someone from CBBC, but I really can't remember. Sorry!

2) What is your favourite least well known band?

Well, this isn't really a band, and they're pretty well known but I want to say Frank Turner. I find that when I mention him to my girl friends a lot of people don't know who he is. His band is Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls. Not everyone's cup of tea I understand, but there's no denying Franks an amazing writer and I think he has a unique, interesting voice!

3) What camera do you use to take photo’s on your blog?

Well I've only done one post with photos, and to be honest I used my iPhone for that. I do have a camera, but I couldn't be bothered to get it when my phone was next to me so there we go. Another fact - I'm lazy.

4) What is your favourite lipstick/lip product?

At the moment my favourite lip product is my Maybelline Baby Lips in 'Mint Fresh'. My lips are chapping at the moment and it's sorting them out just fine. My favourite product ever would have to be Dior Creme De Rose Lip Balm.

5) Which would you rather, bad hair, or no make up?

No make up - my skin would probably be lovely if I never wore make up!

6) If you could go back and do something in your life differently, would you and why/why not?

I've done a lot of things that I'd like to go back and change, but I don't think I would if I could. If I'd done things differently in the past I wouldn't be where I am today.

7) What is the last piece of schoolwork you did?

I left school in 2011, so I honestly can't remember. My A Level exams if they count?

8) What is the view from your window (without giving a location, we wouldn’t want anybody stalking you)

It's night time so I can't see much! If it was light outside I can just see the houses across the street. Nothing exciting I'm afraid!

9) What is the last song you listened to?

Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap.

10) What is the most rebellious thing you’ve ever done?

LOL, I'm not a rebel!

11) Are you wearing nail polish, and if so which one?

No, I wish I was but I'm trying to give my nails a break.

My questions

1) If you could live any dream for one day, what would it be?
2) What's your biggest fear?
3) If you had to live for the rest of your life with only one make up product, what would it be and why?
4) What's your favourite TV show?
5) What are you most excited for in spring?
6) What's your favourite item of clothing that you own?
7) What do you think is the most important step in a beauty routine?
8) If you had to go back in time, where would you go?
9) What's the best shampoo/ conditioner duo in your opinion?
10) What advice can you give to someone who's 3 years younger than you?
11) Do you have any pets? If so, what do you have?

STYLE CRUSH

So, today I thought that I would start a series called 'Style Crush' (original - I know!)
The basic idea is every now and then when I'm feeling particularly inspired by another's style, be it a celeb, blogger or even someone I know, I'll post about it. From there, when I go shopping or put outfits together, I'll take a look back at the  post for inspiration.

I've gotten into a bad habit of buying anything and everything I like without much thought, meaning my style is becoming increasingly miss-matched and not put together - Nightmare! Hopefully this little excersice will allow me to think more about what I like, what would suit my body and what to avoid!!

So, to kick things off, I've recently been obsessed with Leighton Meester.

I've loved Leighton's style - both as herself and Blair - since I first watched Gossip Girl years ago. One thing I've noticed is I often see fashion posts featuring Blake Lively - Leighton's ex co- star - who don't get me wrong I think is stunning, but I think Leighton can get over looked.

Her casual style is casual, laid back, comfy whereas her 'dressy' style is elegant and graceful. In my opinion she can pull off any look!

Here are some of my favourite looks:

Expect to see an update post, haul, beauty look soon!!
